ACT Exam 2022 is compulsory for both American applicants and applicants from other countries (the latter, together with ACT, take the TOEFL test). ACT Exam 2022 results are valid for 3 years from the date of the exam.
The duration of the test is about 3 hours (without the composition section) and about 3.5 hours (with the composition section). The tasks have 4-5 answer options. ACT Exam 2022 Evaluation of results
The exam result is determined based on the ratio of correct and incorrect answers. A large number of tasks and a limited time to complete them is a significant factor affecting the result. Successful passing of the test requires not only good knowledge of mathematics and English, but also possession of specific skills in solving test tasks.
Each section of the ACT Exam 2022 is graded on a scale from 1 to 36. The overall exam score is the arithmetic average of the results of the individual sections. When determining the result, only correct answers are taken into account (for incorrect answers, the score does not decrease).
An optional essay is rated on a scale from 2 to 12 points.

SAT or A CT: what to prepare for? which is better to take?
There are no general rules. Most colleges and universities in the United States accept both test scores, so applicants can choose the test of their own choosing. However, some colleges, in addition to SAT I or ACT + Writing, require SAT II in two or three subjects, and some do not require these tests at all. Sometimes ACT results replace SAT I + SAT II, and this can save a lot of time and money, but usually if you are taking the ACT test, you will most likely still need to take the SAT Subject Test. So first of all, determine what exams your chosen colleges require. If SAT Subject Tests are required, and you want to choose mathematics, biology or physics, then there is no point in taking AST.
When choosing an exam, your abilities and interests are very important: SAT is considered more logical and mathematical, and ACT Exam 2022 is more humanitarian and, therefore, easier. But ACT Exam 2022 gives less time for each question, so if you find it difficult to solve tasks in a short time, choose SAT.

The SAT is aimed at identifying skills (logic, analytical, math, language), while the ACT tests knowledge of high school material.
Reading: SAT, more than ACT, tests vocabulary knowledge. If you are fluent in English, but do not know rare words, then the ACT test will be better.
Mathematics: ACT contains several tasks on the knowledge of trigonometry. There are no such tasks in the SAT.
ACT contains a separate Science Reasoning section, which tests the knowledge of applicants in areas such as biology, chemistry, physics, geography. However, the tasks in this section involve not so much possession of specific knowledge as the ability to correctly understand and interpret scientific information presented in the form of graphs, hypotheses and scientific descriptions. Those who are proficient in critical reading are generally good at such assignments.
